Hello
Thank you for visiting my page! My name is Caralyn Goode (she/her), and I'm a registered social worker based in the Leduc area. I believe in creating a space where people feel seen, heard, and supported. I bring in curiosity, compassion and, occasionally, a bit of humour into my sessions, because I believe that healing doesn't always need to be heavy.
My Approach and Education
I've always been curious about humans, what shapes us, how we make sense of our experiences, and how we connect with ourselves and others. That curiosity led me to pursue a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology. As I began working in the field, I found myself drawn to the interconnectedness between mental health, addiction, and broader social justice issues and systemic barriers. I realized that my values strongly aligned with the social work profession, which led me to complete a Bachelor of Social Work degree, followed by a Master of Social Work with a clinical specialization.

I’ve worked in the field of addictions and mental health for over 13 years, in a variety of settings - including community agencies, inpatient and outpatient programs, and crisis response. Over the years, I’ve supported individuals navigating mental health diagnoses, concurrent disorders, substance use, trauma, stress, burnout, self-worth concerns and other life challenges. I also have specialized training and experience supporting those impacted by sexual violence.

My approach to therapy is integrative and client-centred. I work from a trauma-informed, feminist, and anti-oppressive lens, and I value collaboration, flexibility, and transparency in the therapeutic process. I strive to offer an inclusive, affirming space for individuals of all races, ethnicities, genders, sexual orientations, abilities, and backgrounds. I’m trained in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), ego-state therapy (think parts work!), and draw on tools from CBT, DBT, narrative therapy, motivational interviewing, and solution-focused therapy. I'm also currently completing a two-year Somatic Attachment Psychotherapy training (to be completed in 2026) and have begun gently weaving somatic practices into my work with clients.

Outside of work, you'll likely find me at home with my husband and our two dogs. I am an avid reader, especially fantasy romance, but I'm always up for a good story. I value connection and adventure, whether that means traveling somewhere new or spending meaningful time with friends.
